Monkey Around Day
New Wii Mobile Entertainment Center Purchased for the PICU at Children's Hospital!
We are thrilled to have been able to purchase a new Wii Mobile Entertainment Center for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The Wii will be exclusively utilized with patients in the PICU. Doctor's and nurses are very excited to have this unit available as their parients often need to be encouraged to move around and/or get out of bed. Sometimes nothing will motivate the child to do this. With this new unit available, motivation won't be a problem anymore!
"Luke's Garden" a Hit with Children at The Children's Home of Pittsburgh!
For the second year now the children form the medical daycare, Child's
Way, at The Children's Home are enjoying their garden. The children enjoy planting, caring for, and eventually harvesting the vegetables from the garden. The garden was made possible with our donations over the past two years. With this year's donation the garden was updated and a permanent fence has been placed around the garden. A plaque officially naming the garden, Luke's Garden, will be placed at the garden's entrance later this summer.
Lee Robinson visits The Children's Home of Pittsburgh!

Child's Way Visits the Spring House!
"To help the kids of Child’s Way® bring in the fall season, the last week of October was packed with all things fun, fall, and spooky. It was a busy week for the children, taking field trips and having special visitors come to them. To kick things off, Annemarie Hoffman organized a day of fall activities for 17 Child’s Way children on Tuesday, October 27. Held at The Spring House, the children enjoyed a classic hayride, putting everyone in the holiday spirit. They were also treated to lunch and an exploration through a pumpkin patch. As a fitting end to an exciting day, the children enjoyed ice cream, putting a smile on every face."
Transportation for this trip was made possible with the help of the Luke Hadley Foundaiton!
"Luke's Art Carts" - Bringing fun to children who are unable to get to the hospital playrooms!
Five "Luke's Art Carts" have been purchased and are now making their way from room to room in the critical care units of Children's Hospital. The mission and goal of Luke's Art Carts is to bring activities and smiles to the children in the critical care units, because they are not able to get out of their beds/rooms to take advantage of the play rooms throughout the hospital. One of our ongoing missions will be to keep these carts fully supplied so that the smiles and fun continue for these amazing children!
Children's Home Field Trip
We were very happy to receive this picture from The Children's Home. This field trip was made possible using the funds donated by the Luke Hadley Foundation. These funds were raised at our Launch Party.
A Special Gift
A very dear friend, Karen Claus, had her father make a beautiful bookcase to put in Luke's Pedaitrician's office. It is called "Luke's Library". She also took up a collection of books to be placed on the case. Luke loved listening to stories. He would have liked his friends to listen, too.
Thank you to Karen, her father, and all who donated books for this beautiful case!
