Mission Statement:
The Luke Hadley Foundation was created to improve the quality of life for medically fragile children by giving them reasons to smile.
Our mission is being achieved through the work we do with
organizations that care for these amazing children. We currently have a strong relationship with The Children’s
Home of Pittsburgh and the Child Life Department within Children’s Hospital of
Pittsburgh. The Luke Hadley
Foundation is enriching the lives of the children cared for by these
organizations by providing them with toys, activities, equipment, programs, and
field trips.
Here is what Pam
Schanwald, CEO of The Children’s Home, has to say about the impact of the Luke Hadley Foundation.
“The Luke
Hadley Foundation has been instrumental in providing the children we serve with
more educational enrichment and just plain fun that we wouldn’t have been able
to provide otherwise. Seeing the joy on the kid’s faces as they
experience something new to them is the kind of intangible benefit that we love
to provide here at The Children’s Home and the support from the Luke Hadley
Foundation makes it easier to have these unique experiences for our medically
fragile children.”
Pam Schanwald, CEO, Children's Home of Pittsburgh.
Here is what Sara Cramer, Child Life Specialist at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, has to say about the impact of the Luke Hadley Foundation.
"The Luke Hadley Foundation is truly an amazing organization. With the
help of the Luke Hadley Foundation, the Child Life Department has been
able to provide patients with sensory and distraction items. These
items have proven to help children relax and refocus on something other
than difficult medical procedures as well as the hospital environment.
The Child Life Department has also been able to better educate patients
and families about the medical environment using materials that cannot
be provided otherwise. The Luke Hadley Foundation has brought numerous
smiles to hospitalized children, their families, and the medical team."
